Get to Know Weimer Machine
Weimer Machine has humble beginnings like many small family-owned businesses, originating in a home garage over 64 years ago. In the 1960’s, Weimer Machine, LLC settled in Berwyn on the automotive row of Ogden Avenue, part of the historic Route 66.
The early 70’s brought the first building addition to accommodate the growing needs and machinery. In 1980, the neighboring property was purchased to allow Weimer Machine to offer automotive service. In 1996, a new building addition expanded our 2 bay service department into 10 bays and made room for a new parts department and waiting room. With will, determination and hard work, Weimer Machine, LLC has grown to be an industry leader and a highly recognized and reputable business in a 9000 square foot facility.

Certifications

Weimer Machine, LLC is an ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Blue Seal recognized shop. ASE is the national organization responsible for the certification of technicians in the automotive, trucking, agricultural and industrial industries. Since the 1970’s, the owner and all employees have earned ASE Master Certifications. The owner, Benno, holds master certification status in all sections of ASE and has worked with ASE to create the examinations that constitute the certification programs.

Ben is also a member of AREA (Automotive Engine Rebuilders Association) and formerly served on its Board of Directors. He played a key role in the institution of AERA’s Engine Machinist Certification program which has become today’s world-wide standard for engine rebuilders and engine machinists.
Ben and his employees are also EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technicians) Master Certified. In addition, Ben serves as a member of the EVT Validation Committee, which is responsible for the education standards of emergency vehicle technicians and the creation of the EVT Certification program.

THE FUTURE
The world is in need of qualified engine rebuilding technicians and engine machinists in the automotive, truck, marine, industrial, agricultural, and emergency vehicle industries.
Ben and Weimer Machine, LLC are devoted to mentoring and developing the talent of young people entering these fields by donating their time to work with such great organizations as ASE, AERA, ASA, EVT. Ben and his team at Weimer Machine, LLC also provide intern programs to students enrolled in mechanical and machining programs at local high schools and junior colleges. As an AC Delco Professional Service Center, Weimer Machine collaborates with Triton College and contributes to their GM ASEP training program.

Today’s sophisticated vehicle and power plant technology require considerable education and more so, continuing education to keep up with the rapidly changing technology. Thanks to Ben’s son Rick, who runs the day to day operations, Ben has the opportunity to mentor a new generation of ace technicians.
